Question: How do dōTERRA essential oils show up in your holiday baking?
doTERRA International LLC EO’s are CPTG … certified pure tested grade — which means they have undergone strict internal and third party testing to validate purity.
It matters because it means you can trust that the essential oil you’re about to experience is true to the plant’s chemical constituents.
If the dōT bottle has supplement facts, it’s safe to ingest … you can enjoy it aromatically, topically —- AND internally.
😋 This comes in handy in the kitchen.
My black pepper pound cake gets a boost with some drops of dōTERRA’s CPTG Lemon and Pink Pepper essential oils. 😅 Pink only because I’ve already run out of Black and need to add it to my next order.
Recipe: Black Pepper Pound Cake
Bake at 325 degrees for 70-75* minutes.
1 cup butter (room temp or soft)
3 cups sugar
3 tsp ground black pepper
2 tsp extract of choice (could be lemon or vanilla or almond)
10 to 15 drops of dōTERRA CPTG essential oils
6 eggs
3 cups flour
1 cup heavy cream
Take your time creaming the butter and the sugar. Add your eggs one at a time. Blend well after each one. Add pepper. Even though the recipe says 3 teaspoons, you should measure the whole pepper situation with your heart. Add extract. Add essential oils. These too can be measured with your heart. Mix well. Alternate adding your flour and cream. Add a little bit of the flour - mix it in; add a little bit of the cream - mix it in. Pour (or plop) into a greased/floured cake pan.
PRO TIP: If you have extra, add the leftover into muffin tins.
*Depending on your oven, the humidity, etc... your cake may want more time in the oven. That's okay. I've had a cake once - the same cake, the same recipe - want to be in the oven for 100 minutes. It just needed extra time. We don't judge. If you opt for the leftover in a muffin tin idea, check on those around the 25-30 minute mark. You don't want pound cake pucks, huh?
