It's easy to keep focus on the goal - the end/culmination point - and forget to think about the first step that's right in front of you. The step that's going to take you there ... at least, get you started.
Or maybe, not forget it.
But ... forget to focus on it.
It could be fear...
All the unknowns. All the "how's THAT going to happen?"
Fear can blur things, make them feel unfocused. If "fear" is too strong a word, we can choose nerves or anxiety, I suppose.
Whatever the word choice, it's the same result ... hesitation, a too-long-pause on taking that first step. I don't know about you, but a whole encyclopedia of downward spiral can be whispered in my head when I sit in a too-long-pause, especially when I know (because I have the experience) that a baby step forward will offer so much momentum.
I think that's why I like the concepts of 1% better and the 1 minute commitment.
It seems silly that such a tiny baby step would take you anywhere, but it does.
As you think about starting this upcoming week, take the tiny baby step.
I'm cheering for you!
