I Am A Queen’s Fatherless Daughter Community Forum will take place on Saturday, March 12 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Power Play Center, located at 2207 East Cone Blvd., Greensboro, N.C. Their goal is to bring together fathers to empower, enlighten and encourage young queens about their worth, share wisdom and guidance.
I am delighted to be joining the social media effort for this weekend’s event with this awesome organization that seeks to enrich the lives of young woman in the local community. My role will be focused on providing live coverage of the event on Twitter. Follow @IAmAQueenNC and use the hashtag #fatherlessdaughters to join the conversation.
It is my great pleasure to work with the organization’s Founder and Executive Director, Alana V. Allen. We’re cubical neighbors at our day job (helping to keep each other sane), and also we support each other’s purpose outside of the office. This woman is a passionate advocate for the lives of young people, and she’s an inspiration to me to keep moving forward with my own goals.
I Am A Queen is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on empowering women to embrace the Queen on the inside and encourages others to give back abundantly.
Tune in Friday morning, March 11th on WFMY News 2 at 6:45am.
Representatives from I Am A Queen will be talking the importance of fatherhood and self-esteem in teen girls! Demetrius Brown will represent the panel of fathers and Symone Perry will share her experience being a teen girl!
Everytime a girl says, “I AM A QUEEN,” she breaks chains of rejection, defeat and pain off her life.Alana V. Allen
