Hooray for company sponsored lunches!

One of the nicest things about being included in an all-day Sales Summit is having the opportunity to eat lunch with the team.

Because we were meeting in the Buckner Conference Room, we weren’t too far from the Saxapahaw General Store. And it was a no-brainer to head over that way for lunch.

Last year, we all split a few pizzas. It worked out well. I was happy to have an easy go-to and another to challenge my taste buds.

This year, we all decided to get sandwiches.

And I want you to know that I really tried to read through the entire menu. I really did try. But as soon as I saw Goat Burger and Manchego cheese, my eyes just kinda stopped working. I should have been daring and tried something new, especially knowing that this meal was on the company’s dime. But, no. I went for the tried-and-true, and utterly delicious!

My co-worker went with the Veggie Burger. He said that it was made with White Beans. And I am not going to lie: I thought it looked mighty tasty as well. He was definitely a fan.

The point is, if you’re anywhere near the Sax Gen Store, definitely take the time to stop and enjoy a meal. In fact, if you plan well, you can spend the whole day in the Saxapahaw area.

There’s Cup 22 for coffee and lounging (and yes, they have free WIFI). There’s The Eddy for a grand, gourmet dinner (don’t dare think it’s just pub food) with drinks and an amazing view. And for your late night enjoyment, there’s the Haw River Ballroom with music events all the time.

Let me know if you’re going to be in town and I’ll come meet you. I love having any excuse to head over to the Sax area!
