I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the first weekend of the year than spending time catching up with old friends.

Tonight we shared a meal with a family near and dear to my heart. This couple was introduced to me by my ex-husband – and the friendship has continued through the ups and downs of life since then. We’ve celebrated marriages, children and career progress.

I am thankful that even though we don’t get to see each other often, when we do, the connection is real, and ready for growth.

Tonight, as the kids played, we caught up on the last few months of family developments, shared ideas and struggles, and talked about how 2016 holds the promise of change. Positive change.

As I’ve said before, I am looking at 2016 to bring prosperity.

And for me, that means more than financial prosperity. It means an abundance of positivity, good choices and deeper friendships.

On a related note: I also love the fact that I had the opportunity to get some good snuggles with Jack-Jack, who is pretty much the best dog ever. Always has been. Always will be. And don’t get me wrong, I’ve known and loved some wonderful pups, but Jack-Jack is in the cream of the crop.

He’s getting up there in age and I know that he’s been with us longer than he has left, but the start of 2016 is that much sweeter with him leaning into me with a contented smile on his face.

Yes. Happy puppy snuggles (even old puppies) equate to points for prosperity in my book!
